Recycle Saline is excited to announce a new Saturday recycling program, launching on the 1st Saturday of each month from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with the exception of July. The Recycling Center will not be open for Saturday recycling in July. This initiative will be a pilot program in 2025 to evaluate community participation, which will help determine if Saturday recycling continues into 2026.
Please note that only one team member will be available on Saturdays. If you plan to drop off large items, such as a heavy TV, we recommend bringing a friend to assist with unloading.
The team behind this initiative is small, consisting of just four members who also handle responsibilities like landfill coupons, environmental enforcement, waste hauler licensing, investigating illegal dumping, providing recycling and educational resources to Saline County schools, and ensuring compliance with state regulations. With such a small team, running the recycling center on Saturdays requires overtime, which takes away from personal time. However, the team is committed to making this work, as long as the community supports it.
